The origin

Jeffrey Hinsbeeck has been in and around the plant growing industry his entire life. Born in 1975. Raised between South America and the Netherlands. Growing has been his world since before he could drive.

Over three decades he watched the nutrition industry build itself into something unnecessarily complex. More products. More stages. More reasons to spend money. He knew, from experience, that most of it was not necessary. But he also knew he had not seen a formula that proved it until the pandemic.

The moment

During the pandemic, Jeffrey was introduced to a plant scientist who claimed he had developed a single dry formula capable of covering the full grow cycle. Growth and bloom. One product.

Jeffrey’s response was direct: impossible. He told the scientist it could not work. That the plants would fail. That everything he knew about plant nutrition said it was not possible.

The scientist told him to come and see for himself.

Jeffrey drove to the greenhouse. He checked the plants. He checked the roots. He took his own equipment from the car and measured it himself.

The plants were thriving.

That was the founding moment of Druid Nutrients. Not a business plan. Not a market opportunity. A grower standing in a greenhouse, realising he was wrong.

Why Druid exists

The nutrition industry has a structural problem. It profits from complexity. Every additional product, every extra stage, every new bottle is another margin line. The feeding chart does not exist to make you successful. It exists to make you dependent.

Jeffrey had seen this for 30 years. The professor had solved it scientifically. Together, they built Berkana, a single dry formula that replaces the entire lineup. Growth. Bloom. One bag.

The mission has not changed since 2021: make growing simple enough that anyone can do it well, and honest enough that we tell you exactly when you don’t need something.

Where we are

Druid Nutrients is based in Best, Netherlands. Berkana is formulated in the Netherlands and tested independently by Nutricontrol and Eurofins Agro. We ship across Europe.
