How to use Berkana.<\/h1>\n

It takes five minutes to learn and works the same way every grow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\nWhat you need<\/span><\/p>\n

Before you start<\/h2>\n

You need three things: a precision scale, clean water, and your growing medium. That is it. No pH meter required for most setups. Berkana buffers naturally between 5.5 and 7.5. No feeding chart to follow. No products to switch at bloom.<\/p>\n

If you are running a water-based system and want to monitor EC, a basic EC pen is useful. Not mandatory. But useful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\nHow much to use<\/span><\/p>\n

The dose<\/h2>\n

Mix Berkana dry granules directly into water. Stir for five minutes until fully dissolved. For hydroponics, aeroponics, or mistponics: stir twice with a 45-minute pause between.<\/p>\n

The dose depends on your growth stage.<\/p>\n

Dosages are calculated based on source water with a starting EC of 0.3. Adjust if your source water EC is significantly higher or lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

pH<\/h2>\n

Berkana is designed to be pH-buffered. In most setups you will not need to adjust pH manually.<\/p>\n

Ideal range:<\/strong> 5.5 – 7.5<\/p>\n

Soil:<\/strong> Keep between 6.0 – 7.0 for best nutrient availability.<\/p>\n

Hydro and coco:<\/strong> Keep between 5.5 – 6.5 for best performance.<\/p>\n

If your pH is drifting outside these ranges consistently, check your source water first. Hard water with high bicarbonate content is the most common cause.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Medium-specific notes<\/h2>\n

Soil<\/h3>\n

Berkana works in all soil types. Mix at the recommended EC for your stage. Water until slight runoff. Allow the medium to dry partially between feeds. do not keep it saturated.<\/p>\n

Coco<\/h3>\n

Feed at every watering. Coco does not hold nutrients the way soil does, so consistent feeding matters. Keep EC in the recommended range for your stage. Flush at end of cycle.<\/p>\n

Rock wool<\/h3>\n

Soak new rock wool slabs in pH-adjusted water before use. Feed at every watering. Rock wool is inert. it does not buffer, so your EC and pH readings are accurate reflections of what the plant is receiving.<\/p>\n

Hydroponics, aeroponics, mistponics<\/h3>\n

Stir twice with a 45-minute pause between additions. This ensures full dissolution and prevents any sediment reaching your system. Change your reservoir every 7 – 10 days. Consider adding Uruz if you are running high growth rates and seeing signs of calcium deficiency. this is the one situation where Berkana alone may not fully cover demand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\nWhat to watch<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading your plant<\/h2>\n

Healthy plants tell you everything. Here are the signals that matter.<\/p>\n

Leaves are deep green, stems are strong, growth rate is consistent.<\/h3>\n

This is what you want. Keep doing what you are doing.<\/p>\n

New growth is pale or yellowing at the tips.<\/h3>\n

EC is likely too low for your current stage. Increase dose slightly and monitor over 48 hours.<\/p>\n

Leaf tips are burning or curling under.<\/h3>\n

EC is likely too high. Flush with plain water at low EC (0.0 – 0.4) and return to a lower dose.<\/p>\n

Leaves are yellowing between the veins, green veins still visible.<\/h3>\n

This is typically a pH issue, not a nutrient issue. Check your feed pH and adjust to the recommended range for your medium.<\/p>\n

Growth has slowed but the plant looks otherwise healthy.<\/h3>\n

Check your EC. If it is in range, check your environment. temperature, humidity, and airflow affect uptake more than most growers expect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\nWhen to add Jera or Uruz<\/span><\/p>\n

Jera and Uruz<\/h2>\n

Most growers run Berkana alone for the full cycle. That is the point.<\/p>\n

Add Jera if:<\/h3>\n

You are running an organic grow without Berkana, or you want to use a dedicated flush product in the final week before harvest. Jera is 100% organic, biodegradable, and works in all mediums. Dose: 50g per 1,000 litres of water.<\/p>\n

Add Uruz if:<\/h3>\n

You are running hydroponics, aeroponics, or mistponics at high intensity and seeing calcium deficiency despite correct Berkana dosage. Uruz provides additional mineral supplementation via fulvic acid and low-sodium sea salt. It is 100% water-soluble and will not clog your system.<\/p>\n

If you are growing in soil or coco with Berkana at the correct EC, you do not need either product. We will always be the first to tell you that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
